DESCRIPTION:The Wyoming County Chamber & Tourism office will be hosting a ribbon cutting celebrating the 1-year anniversary of the Coca-Cola Barn Museum\, located at 3872 Sowerby Road\, Silver Springs\, NY 14550 on Monday\, July 10\, 2023. The event will take place at 3:00 PM. David Phillips and his wife Janet spent a decade collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia beginning the year of his retirement from teaching in 2012. They never planned to have a collection as large as it is today. It started with a glass pitcher they bought to fill with Coke when their grandkids would visit\, then they realized they needed Coca-Cola glasses\, and that began the quest for more. With the sudden passing of David's wife Janet in 2021\, he eventually went ahead and set up the museum and had the open house on May 14\, 2022. It was then he decided to make it a memorial to Janet because she had a big part to play in acquiring the collection and the reason he opened it for the public to enjoy. The public may visit if the open flag is flying or call David Phillips at 585-507-9553 for an appointment. Details are below\, the media and public are welcome and encouraged to attend.
